JOSEPH IADONE Sonata for Double Bass and Piano

Edited by Anthony Bianco. Written in 1944, the Sonata was a project for Paul Hindemith’s class at Yale University. The second movement is written sul A. The third is pizzicato sempre and makes use of guitar-like effects. At the composer’s request, proceeds from the sale of this piece are committed to scholarships for young bassists. The piano score transposed for solo scordatura is available upon request.
