Specifications:
Before you install the string, remove the felt piece that's meant to be a cushion. It isn't needed. Put the wrapped end of the string through the front of the tailpiece instead of the back. Then feed it through the hole in the brass ring at the other end and wind it up. The result is a lessening of pressure on the tailpiece and, thereby, more resonance. The strings feel softer under the bow and they ring more.
